I was seen by Dr Katy Ammar at Epsom Hospital and she undertook a 'Fenton's Procedure'. I had this done under local rather than general anaesthetic and it was painless (except for the initial injection) and quick. She explained exactly what she was doing and was very professional. I had a follow-up six weeks later and she examined me, with her team, and she was delighted with the repair and healing. Would recommend this doctor.

I initially went into Epsom general Hospital for a hysteroscopy. Miss Ammar came to see me beforehand to discuss my notes and said before I had this procedure she would like me to have an internal scan to make sure it was absolutely necessary, even though this would mean re-arranging the operating schedule and causing some upheaval in the ward. After having the scan Miss Ammar came to see me and said in her opinion the hysteroscopy was not necessary as in her view there was nothing to alarm her on the scan. She said she was looking at this from the viewpoint that I was her mother, not her patient, and would not like to put her mother through an un-necessary procedure, for which I was very grateful. She was ultra caring.

I saw Miss Katy Ammar at Ashtead Hospital initially in July and then for surgery in August. She was extremely thorough in her investigations from the start and explained clearly the issues. She performed laporoscopy surgery for me at Ashtead to remove an extremely large ovarian cyst and endemetriosis tissue. Miss Ammar had told me to be prepared for a laparotomy due to the size and location of the cyst but assured me that she would try her very best to perform the necessary procedure by laparoscopy. I was absolutely delighted to find that she had managed to complete the procedure successfully via laparoscopy and I know that it was a very tricky and time consuming procedure to do it this way. Follow up after the operation was great and Miss Ammar phoned me herself several times in the 2 days afterwards to see how I was. I had complete confidence in Miss Ammar from the start and would highly recommend her to anyone with gynaecological issues. She is a very professional person but also very genuine and kind and someone who will go the extra mile to help her patients.
